Actor Khan Bonfils died in London Jan. 7 2015 during rehearsals for a play. Members of the Craft Theatre company and paramedics were unable to resuscitate Bonfils after he collapsed during a rehearsal. Dante’s Inferno is due to continue with another actor.
Khan Bonfils, an actor who appeared as a Jedi master in the Star Wars franchise as well as James Bond films, has collapsed and died during a theatre rehearsal in London.
Bonfils, who was also known as Kan, was rehearsing for Dante’s Inferno, which was set to open at The Rag Factory in east London this week.
Members of the Craft Theatre company and paramedics were unable to resuscitate Bonfils after he collapsed during a rehearsal. Director Rocky Rodriguez Jr performed CPR, according to the company’s spokesman Chris Hislop.
Bonfils appeared in 2012’s Bond film Skyfall, where he played a henchman, and also had a role in 1997’s Tomorrow Never Dies. In 1999 he appeared opposite Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace as Jedi master Saesee Tiin.
The cause of his death is not known. Read more…
