At least that’s the party line from Samsung, which says its curved TVs were very successful the main rationale for producing a curved PC. However, a curved computer monitor actually makes more physical sense than a curved TV screen, since the viewer sits a much closer to the display. That short distance translates into more extreme viewing angles for a flat screen, which can sometimes mean reduced image quality.
The ATIV One 7 Curved’s 27-inch curved display fixes that (at least somewhat), while at the same time bestowing a more personal experience for a single user. Checking out the machine in person, I quickly got used to the curve and had no problems using it. With a curved screen, however, setting your monitor at the proper height becomes even more crucial, lest the curve distort your view.
With its curved full HD (1,920 x 1,080) screen, the all-in-one PC is made with multimedia in mind; it also has 10-watt stereo speakers with Dolby Sound Effects for rendering surround sound during gameplay or movies. Even if your PC is off, Bluetooth Music Play 3.0 lets you stream music to the PC’s speakers from your smartphone.
Like other Samsung PCs, the curved ATIV includes SideSync software, which lets you control your phone via the PC, mirror its display in a window, and even let you make and receive calls and texts all from your sweetly curved monitor.
